We’re delighted to announce that Bacton Logistics has been awarded the GOLD level of the Suffolk Carbon Charter for 2025.

This fantastic achievement recognises our ongoing commitment to reducing emissions, improving environmental performance, and playing our part in building a more sustainable future for logistics. The Suffolk Carbon Charter celebrates organisations that are taking meaningful, measurable action to cut their carbon footprint and reaching Gold level places us among a leading group of businesses driving positive environmental change across the region.

For us, sustainability isn’t just a goal, it’s becoming part of how we operate every single day. Across our sites and our fleet, we’ve been making practical changes that add up to a real difference.

At our Lawn Farm site, we’re proud to be generating clean energy through our solar panels, helping to power our operations while reducing reliance on non-renewable sources. Alongside this, our recycled water truck wash system allows us to significantly reduce water consumption, ensuring that even essential processes like vehicle cleaning are carried out as efficiently and responsibly as possible.

Across both of our sites, we’ve invested in electric forklifts, cutting down on emissions inside our warehouses while creating a cleaner, quieter working environment for our teams. Meanwhile, within our company car fleet, we’ve made the decision to move to hybrid or fully electric vehicles, reflecting our commitment to lowering emissions beyond just our core logistics operations.

We’ve also taken steps to reduce the environmental impact of our wider fleet by lowering our maximum speed by 3mph. This may seem like a small adjustment, but it has a meaningful effect on fuel efficiency, emissions and overall road safety – proving that even incremental changes can contribute to a bigger picture.

Being awarded Gold is a proud moment for Bacton Logistics. It shows that our efforts are not only consistent but impactful, and that we are serious about building a greener, more responsible business. But we don’t see this as a finish line. It’s a milestone on a longer journey and we remain committed to finding new ways to improve, innovate and reduce our environmental footprint.

We’re proud to be recognised as a leader in sustainability within the logistics sector and we’ll continue to take positive steps today to help create a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
